President's House viewed from the southeast, with 1806-1807 Medical Departament wing (at left), University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, United States, 1837, (1850). The University occupied the "President's House", built in 1790, from 1801 until 1829. It was demolished in 1829 and two new University buildings were erected on the same place. From "Panorama Universal. History of the United States of America", from 1st edition of Jean B.G. Roux de Rochelle's "Etats-Unis d'Amérique" in 1837. Spanish edition, printed in Barcelona, 1850. (Colorised black and white print).
