Death of Luís Fermín de Carvajal, 1st Count of La Unión (1752-1794), 1794 (1851). War of Roussillon, also called War of the Pyrenees or War of the Convention, (1793-1795). Conflict between the Spain of Charles IV and the First French Republic. Luís Fermín de Carvajal was attacked by General Dugommier between 17 and 20 November 1794 and killed by a rifle shot during a reconnaissance near the hermitage of Roure, in the so-called Battle of the Black Mountain or Battle of Montroig.
