Degradation of the officers and soldiers of Montroig, War of Roussillon, also called War of the Pyrenees or War of the Convention, (1793-1795), 1851. The Count of the Union, Luis Fermin de Carvajal, irritated by the conduct of the troops who had been ordered to take the mountain of Montroig, revoked all officers and soldiers their military badges and insignia, imposing life punishments, because of their negligence and terror, which transmitted to the rest of the troops who had gathered in excess to take the mountain. The command was in the hands of Brigadier Taranco. From "Historia del Levantamiento, guerra y revolución de España by the Conde de Toreno", Madrid, 1851.
