Insurgents forced to drink the molten liquid of the bells as a punishment, 1348, (1890). Peter IV of Aragon, (1319-1387), the Ceremonious, King of Aragon, Valencia and Majorca. The troops of Peter the Ceremonious fought against the Valencian Unionists in 1348, defeating them and taking the city of Valencia. After suppressing the rebellion, Peter IV ordered melting the bells that had been used to call for the insurgents to be recruited, forcing them to drink the molten liquid as a punishment.
