Performance of a court spectacle before King Henri III, (1551-1589) and his court, in the gallery of the Louvre, Paris on October 15, 1581, (1582) (1878). First scene of the "Ballet Comique de la Royne". On the occasion of the wedding of the Duke of Joyeuse to Marguerite de Lorraine, the king's sister-in-law, the Queen Mother Catherine de' Medici arranged for a lavish performance, directed by the choreographer Balthazar de Beaujoyeulx, (c1535 - c1587).
