The Gold State Coach, 1953. The Coach at the royal mews for a press photo shoot prior to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It had just undergone three years of extensive restoration. The Coach is an enclosed, eight-horse-drawn carriage used by the British royal family. It was commissioned in 1760 for King George III, and was designed by Sir William Chambers.
