Banquet to the officers and crew of H.M.S. "St. George" at the Town Hall, Portsmouth, 1898. 'At Portsmouth on Saturday the officers and crew of H.M.S. St. George, first-class cruiser, late flagship of Vice- Admiral Sir F. Bedford on the Cape of Good Hope station and in the Benin Expedition to the West Coast of Africa, in which Admiral Sir H. Rawson and Captain Egerton held active command of the naval force, were entertained with a dinner at the Town Hall. The Mayor, Mr. H. Kimber, presided, the Aldermen and Town Councillors appeared in their robes of state'. On the stage is an orchestra with 'Welcome Home' sign and union jacks.
