W. Klutschak, the artist of the American Franklin Search Expedition. It was commanded by Lieutenant Schwatka, and traversed the district from the northern shore of Hudson's Bay to Simpson's Strait and thence to the north-western coast of King William's Land. It was on the western shore of King William's Land that various relics of Sir John Franklin's expedition were found. The camp of Captain Crozier contained the obvious grave of Lieutenant Irving, third officer of the Terror. The remains of the young officer were transmitted to Edinburgh, where they were interred'.
