Sheep-shearers travelling on the South American Pampas, 1895. 'It is the custom in South American States for parties of sheep-shearers to travel from district to district, and the Illustration which we give shows a company en route across the Pampas. The shearers manage in the intervals of hard work to enjoy their journeyings, somewhat after the fashion of picnics. In the shearing operations there is considerable rivalry as to the speed and skill between various members of each band'. From "Illustrated London News", 1895.
