Place a Biscuit in a basin; pour upon it one teacupful of boiling milk or milk and water; let it stand for ten minutes; then beat it up with a fork. Or, preferably, pour upon it the milk or milk and water cold; boil, and let simmer for five minutes; then beat it up well with the fork. If it is to be taken from a feeding-bottle, boil the biscuit as above in water only; work it with a wooden spoon through a hair sieve; then add about an equal quantity of milk, varying, however, according to the age of the child'.
