Real Ice Skating-Rink, Niagara Hall, Westminster, 1895. 'Not many years ago we had a sudden enthusiasm for skating-rinks - a fervour which, in the language of the pastime, has latterly ended in a "frost." But, in the repeated absence of ice which has distinguished our recent winters, another attempt is being made to revive the rink. At Niagara Hall skaters can enjoy the pleasure of real ice under more comfortable conditions than on frozen London lakes, and their sport is unaffected by any thaw winch may afflict outdoor ice. Mr. and Mrs. Hwfa Williams gave a brilliant party on Jan. 5 to celebrate the opening of the rink, and great satisfaction was expressed at the success of the experiment'.
