Rafael Maroto (1783-1847), Spanish soldier, 1879. He joined the troops of the pretender Carlos V (Carlos María Isidro de Borbón) in the First Carlist War. Together with Espartero, he starred in the Embrace of Vergara (August 31, 1839) which ended the conflict.
