First Carlist War, (1833-1840): Assassination of the Carlist prisoners in the Citadel of Barcelona, 1836, (1845). When the citizens of Barcelona became aware of the excesses perpetrated by the Carlists in some Catalan towns, a crowd stormed the Citadel prison on 4 January 1836.
