The capture by the Spaniards of Guatimocín, (1496-1525), the last emperor of the Aztecs, as he attempted to flee Tenochtitlán in a canoe on 13 August 1521, (1771). He was overtaken by a Spanish brigantine piloted by García Holguín. From "Historia de la Conquista de México, población, y progresos de la América septentrional, conocida por el nombre de Nueva España" (History of the Conquest of Mexico, population, and progress of northern America, known by the name of New Spain), written by Antonio de Solís y Rivadeneryra (1610-1686), "Chronicler of the Indies", Vol II, edition published in Barcelona and divided into two volumes, 1771.
