Lady Geddes, 1910. Rachel Geddes (née White) was the sister of George Reid's friend and patron John Forbes White and the wife of Sir William Duguid Geddes (1828-1900), who was appointed Professor of Greek at King's College, Aberdeen in 1860 and in 1885 Principal of the (united) University of Aberdeen. He was knighted in 1892.
