Kathleen, 1898. This painting is the finished version of 'Girl in Red', a study of the young Kathleen who is painted near her home in Fintray on the banks of the River Dee. The younger sister of Dolly Crombie, whom Brough also painted, Kathleen never married, but stayed home to look after her mother.
