Mrs John Webster, 1888. The sitter, nee Margaret Chalmers, was the daughter of David Chalmers of Westburn and wife of John Webster, Lord Provost of Aberdeen and liberal politician. She was the mother of the donor Alexander Webster esq. who bequeathed this portrait to Aberdeen Art Gallery in 1921.
