Avis aux amateurs, 1871. (Attention all fans). Two figures representing the years 1851 and 1870 lie prone with their heads in a trap, with the word 'Plebiscite' above. A 'souricière' was a mouse trap with spring-loaded nooses in the holes to catch and strangle the animal trying to get to the bait inside. The message is: "Don't vote, it's a trap!" From Actualités (News of the day), published in Le Charivari, November 22, 1871.
