Ramon Berenguer IV and Ermengol receiving the parliamentarians from Lerida, 1890. On 24 October 1149 the governor of the Islamic city of Lérida, capital of the Taifa kingdom of Lérida, surrendered to the counts Ramon Berenguer IV of Barcelona (1113-1162) and Ermengol VI of Urgel (1096-1154).
