Conquest of Majorca: Battle of Portopí, (12 September 1229), 1890. Episode of the battle in which William II (Guillem Ramon de Montcada) (1185-1229), Lord of Montcada, was killed. After landing in Santa Ponsa, William II of Bearne advanced with an expedition to take a strategic point called Puig de sa Batalla. In the course of the military action they were massacred by Saracen army. From "Glorias Españolas" (Glories of Spain), Vol II, Published in Barcelona, 1890.
