Peruvian War of Independence (1809-1826): Baldomero Espartero (1793-1879), Spanish military and politician, 1879. Espartero, alone and disguised, lures a group of insurgents into an ambush near Presto, by pretending to be Fernández, the chieftain they were waiting for. The Spanish troops were located in Tarabuco, the place from which they carried out military actions.
