Battle of Jemappes (6 November 1792), French Revolutionary Wars, 1876. Faced the Austrian and French armies in the vicinity of the village of Jemappes, near Mons, a town in the province of Hainaut (present-day Belgian territory). The French revolutionary troops, commanded by Dumouriez, defeated the Austrians. From "History of the French Revolution", Vol I, 1876.
