Balmoral Avenue, c1920s. Additional Info: Balmoral was first applied to the whole of the eastern slope overlooking the two beaches Hunter and Edwards. Balmoral is evidently to remember Balmoral Castle erected in 1853 by Queen Victoria in Aberdeen Shire, Scotland. Perhaps the originator of our Balmoral might have seen some similarity in the expanse of view.
