Frank Morris, second from left, with other young blinded soldiers at St Dunstan's Hospital for the Blind, London, c.1918. Enlisted 1916, aged 20 (although a letter from his father states he enlisted under age). Service number 5435, 19th Infantry Battalion, 14th reinforcements. Wounded in action 9 October 1917. Lost his eyesight at Passchendaele at the age of 20. He lived at Balmoral Beach for 50 years after the War.
