'The Smugglers', c1910. 'The Smugglers' were a group of men who frequented the Artists' camp on Edwards Beach at the northern end of Balmoral in the early part of the 20th century. They unofficially "kept order" on Edwards Beach and many of them went on to become founding members of the Balmoral Beach Club. From top to bottom are: F. Stratford, N. Cook, W. Dyson, C. Wills, J.
