Fight of Cocks, 1st half of 19th century. Additional Info: This painting, which represents two ruffled cocks preparing for a fight, was attributed to Melchior d'Hondecoeter or his 18th-century imitator. However, it seems more justified to attribute the work to the German artist Johann Heinrich August Friedrich (1789-1843), born and active in Dresden and from 1806 present with his works at the Dresden Academy.
