Portrait of a Boy, 1620s. The depicted boy is under seven years of age since he is wearing a skirt and an apron, just as a girl would do, which was a regular custom at the time. At the same time, a wide-brimmed hat and a hunting dog at his side are typical attributes of masculinity.
