Portrait of Franciszek Ksawery Christiani, 1822. During the Duchy of Warsaw, he served in the Polish army, in the corps of engineers and sappers. From 1819, he was the director of the General Directorate of Roads and Bridges of the Kingdom of Poland. In 1827, he was appointed a member of the Polytechnic Council in Warsaw. After the fall of the November Uprising, he was included in the Russian Corps of Communications Engineers with the rank of general. Waclawa Milewska
