The late Lieutenant Trower, R.N., 1881. 'The Transvaal War. Lieutenant Cornwallis Jasper Trower, R.N., who is...among those killed in South Africa, entered the Navy as a cadet in April, 1868, was gazetted a midshipman in October, 1869, and obtained his first commission in April, 1874. He was gazetted a Lieutenant in April, 1876, receiving his promotion through obtaining three first-class certificates. He served in the Naval Brigade on land under Sir George Colley. He was killed on Feb. 27, at the fight on Majuba Hill'. From "Illustrated London News", 1881.
