Disembarkation of the Governor and Captain-General of Puerto Rico, Andrés González Muñoz, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 11 January 1898. Muñoz (1840-1898) was a Spanish army officer of Cuban origin, promoted to lieutenant general in 1897. He arrived in San Juan and took office, but died of a heart attack only eight hours after the welcoming ceremony. From "La Ilustración Española y Americana", 1898.
