Juan Escóiquiz, canon of Saragossa, is appointed tutor to the Prince of Asturias, c1795, (1851). During the reign of Charles IV of Spain, Manuel Godoy commissioned Juan Escóiquiz (1747-1820) to teach the future King Ferdinand VII. From "Historia del Levantamiento, guerra y revolución de España" (History of the Spanish Uprising, War and Revolution) by the Conde de Toreno, Madrid, 1851.
