Seven Years War (1756-1763): Battle of Wilhelmsthal (June 24, 1762), 1765. The Allied army (British, Prussians, Hessians and Brunswickian troops) led by Field Marshal Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick, Prince of Brunswick-Lüneburg (1721-1792), fought against the French, under the command of Charles de Rohan, prince de Soubise (1715-1787). The French were forced to retreat, resulting in an Allied victory. Map published in 1765 by the cartographer Jean de Beaurain (1696-1771) as an illustration of his "Great Map of Germany, with the events that took place during the Seven Years War".
