Portrait of a Man-Violinist, 1670s. Additional Info: This graceful portrait represents the sitter in three-quarter length and facing slightly to the right, his left and right hands holding a violin and a bow, respectively. The musician is wearing a green tailcoat with golden tabs, a white, ruffled blouse with lace cuffs and a brown waistcoat. He is standing at a table covered with musical scores. His face is clean-shaven, a white, powdered wig on his head. His attire and the cut of the wig suggest that the painting dates to the 1770s. The work is probably a portrait representation of a composer or a musician. The sitter remains unknown.
