Portrait of Dr. Edward Wertheim, Lieutenant Physician of the Polish Legions, March-June 1916]. On the Volhynian front, in the reserve position of the Second Brigade in the Polish Forest near Wolczeck, sitting in a dugout. The open window, the sun, a legionnaire in uniform visible outside, without a coat, testify that the portrait was taken in the spring of 1916, before the start of the Russian offensive, i.e. between March and the beginning of June.
