Portrait of Kazimierz Stempowski, 3rd quarter of 18th century. Additional Info: Stempowski followed the path of a military career from 1758 he served in the 1st. Brigade of the Ukrainian National Cavalry, then in the Ukrainian and Podolia Division, receiving the rank of ensign in 1776, then a lieutenant in 1777, and finally major in 1789. The sources say nothing about him being promoted to colonel, although the inscription on the reverse of the canvas suggests it.
