Homage to Gustav Theodor Fritsch, 1906. 'Ihrem ehrenvorsitzenden Herrn Geheimen Medicinalrat Professor Doctor Gustav Fritsch in Dankbarkeit die Freie Photographische Vereinigung, 20 April 1906'. (To its honorary chairman, Privy Medical Councillor Professor Doctor Gustav Fritsch, in gratitude, the Free Photographic Association, 20 April 1906). Though known for his work as a physiologist, Fritsch also took part as anthropologist and photographer in the Prussian Solar Eclipse expedition to Aden, 1868 and the Prussian Venus Expedition to Isfahan, and photographed many Egyptian antiquities. He illustrated and published a book on the human body, "Die Gestalt des Menschen" (The shape of man), (1899, 2nd ed. 1905) He was the first president of the Freie Photographische Vereinigung, founded in Berlin in 1889.
