The Civil War in Spain: trenches to the left of San Candido Redoubt (Las Carreras), near Bilbao, 1874. 'A set of Illustrations, from sketches by our Artist in the camp at Somorrostro, appeared in our last publication, showing the intrenched position of the Carlists near Bilbao, up to the time of their conquest by Marshal Serrano and Marshal Concha. We also gave an Illustration of one of the batteries constructed by the army of the National Spanish Government to attack the Carlist position at San Pedro de Abanto. The redoubt of San Candido, at the neighbouring village of Las Carreras, is represented in two more sketches, furnished by the same correspondent'. From "Illustrated London News", 1874.
