The Ashantee War: artillery park in the camp at Prah-Su, from a sketch by our special artist, 1874. Third Anglo Ashanti War - the British Army in West Africa: view of '...the field battery of light guns, ranged with the Gatling gun in a park of artillery at Prah-su, three of which were marked to be sent forward to Coomassie [Kumasi]. They were only seen by the messengers of the King of Ashantee at Prah-su, but the sight of them was enough to make them return to King Koffee Kalkallee, with such a report as frightened him into submission'.
