The Announcement of the Declaration of Independance, 1776, (c1856-c1859). The American Declaration of Independence was made on 4 July 1776. It was adopted unanimously by the Second Continental Congress, who convened at Pennsylvania State House, later renamed Independence Hall, in the colonial capital of Philadelphia.
