Hotel D'Alsace, Paris, France, 1914. Irish playwright and author Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) stayed in this hotel between 1898 and 1900. The relationship between Wilde and his younger lover, poet and journalist Lord Alfred Douglas (1870-1945), was the subject of a scandal and court case.
