The Ballad of Reading Gaol by C.3.3., 1898. Title page of Oscar Wilde's "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" which he wrote while serving a sentence there. C33 was his prisoner number. Irish playwright and author Wilde (1854-1900) was imprisoned for homosexual acts after losing a criminal libel case. From "Oscar Wilde and Myself". [London, 1898].
