Sweeney Todd at the scaffold, c1880. Sweeney Todd's barber shop was a death trap for unwary customers in need of a shave. With the cry "Down you go!", his barber's chair would swing into the floor - sending his victims crashing to the cellar below. His partner in crime, Mrs Lovett, then turned their bodies into meat pies. Here Sweeney Todd is being hanged for his crimes. Scene from 'Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street', possibly by Charlton Lea.
