George Orwell's application papers to join the 'Indian Police Force', (Burma Police), 1922. The British author George Orwell served in the Burma police from 1922 to 1927. His experiences inspired his first novel, "Burmese Days", published in 1934. On the forms he uses his real name, Eric Blair.
