Aemilius, no more than a young boy, goes into battle and saves the life of a Roman citizen. He pulls out a sword which has pierced the breastplate of a soldier who is kneeling on a prone man, about to stab him. From the manuscript "Les Fais et les Dis des Romains et de autres gens" (The Deeds and Sayings of the Romans and Other People).
