The Lord Munodi takes him in his chariot to see the town of Lagado, 1931. The lord and his companion travel through the city in an elaborate carriage. The lord gestures to his surroundings. In contrast to the colourful background and gold carriage is the broken black and white arch in the foreground. Poverty-stricken figures can be seen leaning against the arch, stumbling down the steps, and reading a book whilst walking along a dilapidated walkway.
