'The Young Lady's Toilet', 1842. A European woman, probably the wife or daughter of an official in the British Raj in India, is attended by Indian servants. One helps her dress, another pours water into a bowl, and a small boy stands holding a bottle. The title above, 'Anglo Indians', probably refers to British people living in India, rather than people of mixed Indian and English descent.
