An Egyptian portrait on display at the Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly, 1888. Depiction of funerary portrait paintings on wood coffins found in Roman Egypt. This painting was removed by British archaeologist William Matthew Flinders Petrie, during his excavations at the Egyptian site of Fayum during the 1880s. This funerary portrait was on display at the Egyptian Hall in London.
