Members of the new House of Commons: Mr. W. T. Marriott (Brighton), 1880. 'Son of late Mr. Christopher Marriott, of Manchester. Born 1834, educated at St. John's College, Cambridge. Called to Bar in 1864, and joined the Home (now South-Eastern) Circuit; obtained silk gown 1877; was elected Bencher of Lincoln's Inn a few months ago. Married daughter of Captain Tennant, R.N., Needwood, Stafford'. From "Illustrated London News", 1880.
