New Members of the House of Commons: Hon. G. H. C. Leigh (South Warwickshire), 1880. 'Hon. Gilbert Henry Chandos Leigh, eldest son of the present (second) Lord Leigh, of Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, by his marriage with Lady Caroline Amelia Grosvenor, fifth daughter of Richard, second Marquis of Westminster. He was born in 1851, educated at Harrow and Magdalene College, Oxford; B.A., 1874; M.A., 1878. Is Captain of Warwickshire Yeomanry Cavalry, and a magistrate and deputy lieutenant for Warwickshire'. (Leigh died in a hunting accident on a shooting expedition in the Big Horn Mountains Wyoming, United States, in September 1884, aged 33, his body having to be retrieved from the bottom of a canyon).
