'Eldest son of late Sir William Jackson, Bart., of Birkenhead, M.P., for Newcastle-under-Lyme, who was created a Baronet in 1869. Born in 1831; educated at Harrow, and Trinity College, Oxford, where he was second class in classics; called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn, 1855; appointed Q.C. in 1873; is Bencher of Lincoln's Inn.
